For some reason I thought FTM "balding algebra" was like....take the average age your father and grandfathers started balding, minus ~12 (age of puberty), then take that number and add it to the age when you started T and that's approximately when you might start balding. For example, say the average age men start balding in your fam is 27...subtract 12 and get 15. If you started t at 30, then you should expect to start balding around 45.
But then I heard someone say the age you start is irrelevant, and that once you hit that balding age, male pattern balding will start regardless of when you started HRT. My world has been shattering around me thinking about this because my coping strategy is generally....kick the can down the road.
Does anyone know more about this, or have relevant experience?
ETA: LOL I know there's not really math, I just got the sense to realize that is what my brain was doing and that I completely made it up. Thank you for all the thoughtful responses. I'm seeing there's just not enough research here and so we can't predict, but there are some factors that can help predict to some degree.
