To those who’ve had a hysto — what made you want one? How did you feel after?
Post Body

I’m just curious as I finally have mine scheduled for this June. I won’t be seeking further bottom / genital surgeries. I’m getting one to make pregnancy impossible, ensure Moses won’t ever part the red sea again, and to remove the possibility of estrogen feminizing my body. Also, I’m having this operation to reduce the AFAB characteristics of my body even if it’s internal.

What about y’all?

edit: by feel I mean emotionally

Got mine several years ago. It’s just another step in correcting things, is how I see it. I had really bad pain in my shoulder from the gas they inflate your abdomen with. I had horrible night sweats and hot flashes for at least a week. I took a week off work, was a bit sore the second week but still able to work. For the first week the most surprising thing to me was that my body was exhausted. Even walking to my mailbox across the parking lot would leave me with heavy breathing and needing to lie down.

Pro tip: bring a small pillow with you to put between you and the seatbelt on your way home. I also used this frequently during the first week to hold against my abdomen when I stood up or coughed or anything like that and it helped.
