It's always something to de-legitimize our feelings isn't it

Was arguing with my family about how tiring it is to be correcting them 24/7 with names and pronouns when I visit home, and they immediately got defensive as if I had no reason to be emotionally drained by the act. Immediately one of them pulled the "I bet its the testosterone making you more short tempered" card. Well, fuck me sideways. Doesn't that sound familiar? "Are you on your period or something why are you upset?"

Never have I heard them try to say my brother was just upset because of his testosterone, so that shouldn't be a argument for me. Thanks for making it clear that expressing my feelings is an inconvenience, fam. I'll be sure to visit even less and keep my mouth shut.
