Ever since I was young, I've always had very vivid dreams. In most of them, I am not "me" — be that I'm playing the role of Spider-man or a duck, whatever— and these characters are almost always male, either in body or at least referred to as such. I don't know whether this is because most media featured male protagonists, or that I simply identified the most with the male characters.
But when I am "me" in my dreams, I tend to still be presenting fémininely and with my old name, or at best my name and gender are left ambiguous. That is, unless it's one or the common nightmares that involve my body (somehow being pregnant, being in public naked etc) when I'm DEFINITELY still biologically female.
How often would you say you find yourself dreaming about yourself as male or female? And how long has it been since you "realised" you were trans? I haven't been "officially" trans for very long, so even mentally I find myself using female pronouns out of habit. I'm wondering if eventually my dreams will catch up with how I'm wanting to view myself, or if these will always be shadows of my past that keep coming back.
