I started working when I was 16 and still had to go by my old name. I stuck out as the trans employee once I started having people call me by my current name. 3 years later and I’m still working at the same place but with different people who have no idea because my name has been legally changed and I’ve medically transitioned.
Now my feminine features that testosterone hasn’t changed is being read as for a gay man instead of biologically female. I’d much rather be called gay or be treated like one than as a trans person. It’s really nice to work with people who don’t know about my past in that way.
