I had my hysterectomy, oophorectomy and salpingectomy on October 5th with Dr. Douglas Austin in Eugene, OR. I was on the fence about keeping the ovaries but I decided to go ahead and have it all taken.

It was a day surgery and I was home by 1pm. The care I received was top notch by all of the nurses and techs. I couldn’t pee so they gave me a catheter which definitely helped and it was removed the next day at which point I was able to go to the bathroom fully.

I’ve been at home, just staying on top of my pain meds and watching tv. Definitely feels tender as I have a narrow cavity and it took longer than they anticipated.

No more will I have to worry about having monthly cycles when I do my shots.
