So - something I noticed on the chat server I connected to today. There were a few new people asking for help - missions, quests and such.
Where as months ago they would have been met with "Yay sure, invite me" from multiple people. They are now met with crickets or snide remarks from people who are tired of the "scammers" or those that don't pull their weight.
Yes, they exist in every game. But when I got Save the World - the one thing that blew me away was how helpful others were. Open to trades during missions, or even giving spares of items they had in abundance. Helping out new players who are still trying to get their barings in the game.
I miss that. Its been like this the last few weeks. People claiming xyz is a scammer, or not being trusting of those trying to find help.
Like it was something that made StW amazing to me. And I believe thats how lots of others want it to be. The only way its going to get back to it if we stop being well.. trolls to the trolls.
Hell I even ran in to a Robin Hood who likes to scam the scammers.
If the community is going to flush out the toxic people spoiling the game and taking away that community that I think initially drew a lot of us in - its only going to happen if we start standing up, being nice and giving people a chance.
