"rat tail" replament help

Best way to remove the rivet holding the rat tail into the bolt carrier. At first look it looked lime a her screw but was just a depled rivet of somesort. Next I tried a punch and hammer with no give I don't wanna bang on it to hard or do i? Any suggestions would be great I inherited this FAL and noticed the rat tail has been bent and then straighten in a place or two so I rather just repair with new part but having issues removing the old part to install the new. Any suggestions would be helpful ty.
