This group is filled with people who have way more FIRE experience than me, so I thought I'd come here for a bit of advice.
I'm 21 years old this year, and own a house with my partner. I'm currently on a salary of 21k in the NHS, and try my best to put around 50% of my monthly earnings into Vanguard investments. I'm not too clued-up when it comes to the best investments to make, but my portfolio is currently split as...
5.21% FTSE Developed world ex-UK equity index fund 52.17% LifeStrategy 80% equity fund 31.70% FTSE Global all cap index fund
My partner is on a higher salary than me, and also invests with Vanguard. We have a total of just over 15k invested at the moment. Our hope is to retire by the time I'm 30 years old - I'm hoping that's in reach.
Right now, I'm at the point where I know I'm doing something to help us achieve FIRE, but I'm always wondering if I can do more. Of course a higher salary would help, but it doesn't look like I'll be getting a raise any time soon and switching jobs during the current pandemic might not be a good move!
Absolutely any tips would be appreciated!
