BOSS: Minotaurus (XI)

Difficulties: 160 (Ultimate ) and 220 (Apocalypse )

Mastery Conditions:

• Defeat the Minotaurus with at least 4 members alive at the end of the battle.
• Reduce the Minotaurus' ATK.
• Reduce the Minotaurus' DEF.

Overview:

• Mix of physical and magical damage, but lean more towards physical mitigation.
• His two magical attacks are Earth-elemental by nature, so wearing Earth resistance will help shave off some damage taken.
• One of his physical AoE's also lowers the DEF of all members hit. You'll notice an increase in the damage taken after he uses it, so be on your toes.
• Every now and then he will cast Death Ray, which applies a 45s Doom on a random player character. He will reapply it again as a character is close to dying.
• Uses Shell on himself periodically.
• Weak to Holy. Vulnerable to Slow.

Tips:

• Holy weak, so bring your best holy damagers. Banishing Strike deals good damage and removes Shell, especially for Raines parties.
• Bring Curaise/Arise/Yuna to counter the effects of Death Ray. You're unlikely to kill him in 45 seconds after the first character gets afflicted by it, amd every dead character makes the fight harder...unless you're Galuf.
• Vulnerable to Slow, so Slow him so that it reduces the number of times he's able to get Death Ray off.
