BOSS: Fiend (VI)

Difficulties: 160 (Ultimate ) and 220 (Apocalypse )

Mastery Conditions:

• Win with 4 or more party members alive.
• Reduce Fiend's ATK.
• Reduce Fiend's MAG.

Overview:

• Has mainly NAT physical and Ice-elemental magical attacks. Only AoE Blizzaga is BLK.
• Northern Cross and Ultimate: Northern Cross both have medium and high chance to deal Stop to the entire party, as well as deal heavy Ice-elemental magic, respectively.
• Weak to Holy. Absorbs Ice and Bio. Resists everything else.
• Whenever Fiend targets someone, he will use Fiendish Rage on that character the next turn. Fiendish Rage bypasses Blink.
• Ultimate: Fiendish Rage deals heavy physical damage to one character, stripping them of buffs (standard Dispel) and bypasses Blink.
• If you hit him with a Holy-elemental attack, he will counter with Counter Ultimate: Fiendish Rage, which is an AoE version of Ultimate: Fiendish Rage that also has an ultimate Dispel.

Tips:

• You can exploit his Holy-elemental weakness by opting to stick with Holy-elemental Soul Breaks instead of abilities. Orlandu's Thunder God OSB, plus the use of Entrust will likely be your best source of damage here, as is anyone with P. Cecil's Paladin Force Arc of Light combo (en-elemental OSB).
• Bring Affliction Break/Astra so your party doesn't get Stopped. Otherwise go with Stop-resistance accessories. If you have a method to deal with Stop, then Ice-elemental resistance accessories are the way to go.
