BOSS: Phantom Train (VI)

Difficulties: 160 (Ultimate ) and 200 (Apocalypse)

Mastery Conditions:

• Win with 4 or more party members alive.
• Reduce Phantom Train's ATK.
• Reduce Phantom Train's MAG.

Overview:

• Status effects galore. Acid Rain can Sap your party, and Diabolic Whistle can cause Poison, Confuse, Slow, Blind, and/or Doom to all targets.
• Weak to Holy, Fire and Lightning-elemental attacks. However, he counters these elements with Ultimate: Acid Rain, which does Water-elemental damage and has a low chance to Sap your party.
• Absorbs Bio.
• His physical attacks are mainly reduced to single-target attack (standard 1-hit PHY), Wheel (1-hit heavy PHY damage), and Ultimate: Wheel (deals massive physical NAT damage to one target with a medium chance to Paralyze them).

Tips:

• Bring Affliction Break if your party can spare the slot. We also have a couple of new tools to use in the war against status effects - namely status blink (Tyro and Vanille USB).
• Most of his damage is magic. Focus more on magic mitigation. A knight with Draw Fire/Gaia Cross can deal with Wheel, and Ultimate: Wheel is never used outside the first 30% of his HP.
• I would go with Slow or Confuse resist here. Asylum users may want to be aware that if Stoneskin/Bubble is up, you can't use a mage to thwack a Confused member on the head, so bring Esuna or Ultra Cure if that is the case.
• You can hit his Holy/Fire/Lightning-elemental weakness with Soul Breaks or Summons, as they cannot be countered against. Orlandu's OSB in particular is very strong here.
