【凶】Hecatoncheir
This is a rather straightforward fight, but it's about how fast you can get your mitigations up before he kills someone, as Hecaton is capable of attacking multiple times in a row. Tauntaliate negates a big chunk of his damage, once you have that up you shouldn't really have to worry about dying. The only attack Tauntaliate doesn't cover is Quake, so preferably bring Shellga.
No Cid's Mission for 【凶】 this time, so enjoy the crushing I suppose.
【凶+】Cid Raines - Cid's Mission Mastery
RW: Sentinel's Grimoire
This fight was a pain in the ass. Raines himself is pretty straightforward, but there's a couple of factors that could throw off your run:
- You need to be prepared to deal with Seraphic Ray. He will use this when his HP is dropped to about 40%. Seraphic Ray comes with a Dispel effect that removes Hastega and Shellga, but I feel that it doesn't remove stat buffs (ie. Wall). Hence, I went with Wall over Scream for this one, as timing Scream recast was kinda tricky, and having to rely entirely on Shellga recast after taking big damage when I needed to heal was also risky - I saw the game over screen twice due to Seraphic Ray.
- Dazega. Whoever thought AoE Sleep is fun should be shot. This skill does some fairly decent damage, but also has a chance to put multiple members to Sleep. There's some RNG involved here.
Other than that, bring Banishing Strike/Dispel to deal with Raines using Shell/Protect on himself - you want to get rid of them ASAP, as they really do reduce your damage output by a lot.
Fragment Dungeon - Taejin's Tower (Dahaka) - Cid's Mission Mastery
RW: Shout
Compared to the piping hot mess that was Ifrit (VIII), Dahaka is a cakewalk. The key I felt to being able to beat this fight with ANY setup is just RNG luck stunlocking him. As long as your luck allows you to drop him at opportune moments, he shouldn't even be able to damage you.
When he's fallen, he becomes weak to every element, so this is the time to unload all your elemental attacks. Saint's Cross is once again the best normal ability to use here, due to it being 2-hits Holy-elemental - it's very easy to do 9999 x2 on a weakened Dahaka.
No unique Soul Breaks were used in this run at all. I'd imagine it'd be doable by everyone in Global, when we get this, as long as their hones and luck are relatively good.
If you find your healer isn't doing much, have them auto-attack. Just so you can possibly try and make him fall a bit more. Which leads me to...
Fragment Dungeon - Taejin's Tower (Dahaka) - No Dedicated Healer Mastery
RW: Shout
It is totally possible to beat Dahaka without running a dedicated healer. Once again, you'll need some RNG to stunlock Dahaka successfully.
I did use Yell in this video once, as Tidus was on low HP at one point, but otherwise I probably did not even need to heal at all.
