So, /u/codexcdm and his/her Core-Only runs got me to thinking: what are some other potential challenge run ideas players could give a shot?

One I thought of a couple times is a "true to history" idea, in which the team consists only of an actual size party using team members that were present for whatever battle is depicted if possible, filling Tyro in for a role if a slot is available. If the party is below "normal" size, Tyro can tag along, but Tyro cannot bring the party over it's limit (Ex: Tyro could join for the Brynhilder fight since Sazh and Vanille only make 2 characters for a 3-man party, but not Black Waltz 2 since you have 4 fixed members already.

This obviously becomes the most interesting in games like FFVI or FFIX, which have a large portion of the story where the party rotates between characters, while FF VIII and FFVII offer a challenge since they only have 3-man parties.

Any comments on this or other ideas come to mind?
