King of Destruction Zoma

Zomaā€™s damage puts him between 28.5 and 29.0. Heā€™s very slightly closer to 28.5, and heā€™s an element locked mageā€¦ but he also has very easy gearing (400% innate TDH, 250% LB damage, and, in his shift, 60% resistance to every single element), so we decided to round him up to 29.0.

Slime NVA

Slimeā€™s damage is similar to Zomaā€™sā€“ actually a bit higherā€“ but heā€™s element locked, needs 200% TDH from gear, and also needs his TM (a materia), which means he has very little room to gear for killers.

So we rounded him down to 28.5.

Alena & Marquis de Leon

In a running theme this week, their damage is about midway between two benchmarks (in this case, 28.0 and 28.5). Theyā€™re noticeably closer to 28.5, but they also gear for TDH despite not having any passives for it, which is less than ideal from a ā€œhaving free materia slotsā€ standpoint.

Still, the fact that they primarily use tag chains for damage, and being closer to the higher benchmark in the first place, is still enough for them to round up to 28.5.

Dragonlord NVA

Dragonlordā€™s kit is so bad he makes Zidane look like Louise. Zidane had a lot of problems, but at least you could fix those problems with eye watering amounts of external support. Dragonlord, on the other hand, has fundamental issues that arise from wanting to stack up his shift LB, use store for three turns, then LB againā€¦ in a shift that only lasts four turns. And thatā€™s without getting into stuff like the fact that he canā€™t use the CoW gear because the autocast will eat his store stacks.

Damage wise, Dragonlord clocks in at the 27.5 benchmark, and there he stays. If he were midway between two benchmarks, he'd almost certainly round down to the general clunkiness of his rotation and the fact that there's little you can do to improve him with external support.
