A few months back I posted about a Global tier list I helped make with some friends. This week we got together and did an update for it and wanted to share with everyone. Here's the update!

Myself, u/Frostzone123 (PikaPieka), and u/ShadoWalker3065 got together and discussed the current Global meta as of December 5th, 2021 and made a video ranking the "top" units of FFBE at the current time. Here's our final results from the discussion:

We only included those units we felt still had a valuable role at the current end-game of FFBE (meaning, great at CoW or DV, but "trials" were mostly ignored). Lot's of units were excluded both for time, and because units such as Sora or Lassgen (or some of the REALLY bads like Kunshira) just aren't pulling their weight these days at the end-game and weren't worth discussing. This doesn't apply to new units, and all new units since our last video update get included, even if they're terrible (hello there Rikku).

For the ranking, we mostly considered these units to be at "max potential", meaning fully enhanced, fully crowned, with a team mostly supporting them for their optimal playstyle, and high-end gear access.

Then there's the typical disclaimers about this tier list being our opinion which you may disagree with, etc etc. Just to state again, this is primarily focused at high score teams for DV or CoW. Trials are a meme at this point in FFBE.

We enjoy discussing FFBE units, so if you think a unit was misplaced or wrongfully left out of the rankings, let us know your reasons why you feel that way!

Note: During the video we forgot to add Rain and Starlight Elena to the tier tool. We discuss them during the video, and I edited their sprites into the final result screenshot. Edit: We apparently also forgot GLS and Lucius EX updates. Lucius would be in bottom tier, GLS would be in C tier.

Final final disclaimer: The way we make these videos are by discussing the unit rankings live, without a script. We think it's more interesting for viewers to hear our thought process about how we arrived at a rank instead of doing the discussion off-camera, then just recording the final results. This means that usually units only get 2-5 minutes of discussion before being placed to keep the runtime down. As a result, now that I look back over our final results, there may be a few units deserving to move a tier up or down. As mentioned earlier and during the video, don't take this list as absolute scientific fact, but instead just as a discussion about the current meta and our thoughts on it.
