Team Building and 100% Provoke/Evade units - Sylvie, Kryla, Doctor Aiden, etc.
Post Body

Hey everyone.

With Awk WoL's banner arriving shortly after Moogle Charm, I wanted to make a short comparison between team comps. So, obviously, my notebook broke and I couldnt do it on a cellphone cuz god forgive me typing and formatting a lot there. Its now fixed tho.

Here's the deal: I'll just show a comparison of a core team comp. We'll have 3 units to choose between: provoke evade tank, healer, breaker and buffer - that's often how teambuilding works. You have a magic tank fixed in party and 2 chainers, and work around that.

This doesnt factor finishers - which are a good bonus - or solo DPS strats with Noctis or Cid, for example. Gonna focus on those more "classic teams".

We have 3 slots left in that potential party. I'll present 4 different ways to fill that party.

1) WoL, Myra, enhanced Elephim

With a more classical approach, we're showing off a provoke evade tank, a buffer/breaker and a healer.

This core as a whole, brings:

Death resist on the provoke tank. 50% mitigation - falling down to 30% for some turns. 200% all stat buffs that recast every turn. 75% full break that recast every turn. 100% uptime on AoE light imbue and imperil. Good barriers. Healing. Status resist minus stop. Fire, Light, Lightning, Wind and Dark 100% resistance buffs. Break resist.

2) Kryla (evade/provoke), Myra, enhanced Ignis

This one brings to the table:

70% breaks turn 1 75% breaks that recast every turn after. Strong, really, really strong AoE LB fill. 200 to 180% all stat buffs. 30% mitigation turn 1 then 50% for the rest of the fight. All status ailments resists after turn 1 which is vulnerable to stop. 80% all elements resist with 100% to fire and light. Healing. Non-regen good MP restore. Fire/Ice/Lightning w-castable imbue 100% imperils to all elements.

3) Doctor Aiden (evade provoke) enhanced Ignis Rikku (FFX-2)

This party brings:

Strong barriers. 30% mitigation for the first turn then full uptime on 50%. 80% all elements resist. 200-140% for 1 turn all stats buff. Turn 1 AoE re-raise. 80% all stats break. All status/break resistance. AoE LB gauge fill. AoE, no-full uptime on dark and lightning imbue 100% dark imperil. Healing. Non-regen good MP restore. Fire/Ice/Lightning w-castable imbue. On demand mirage.

4) Sylvie (evade provoke) Myra Rikku (FFX-2)

30% general mitigation 25% magic/physical. 80% all stats break. AoE LB gauge fill. All status/break resistance. Weak LB fill. Good MP regen, not locked to mana usage. 180-140% all stats buff. 75% all elements buff 100% fire/light/lightning/earth resist buffs. Medium barriers. Light, lightning and earth imbues 1 turn 100% light imperil. On demand mirage.

Closing

Basically, those are the best options to fill in. They dont require STMRs too (which means that, using STMRs, you could pull some more crazy stuff), being "time-gated" since you need time-limited gear to do it. We have a lot of insane role compression on GL which makes a dedicated, exclusive provoke tank not being some 100% needed thing, despite having its upsides.

This post also uses Elephim's enhancements for comparison (which god knows when will drop) as well as Rikku (X-2) which is more "predictable" and should be here in around 3 months. Used her as a benchmark cuz she's the most solid "pure breaker" with those absurd 4 turns 80% breaks on a cheap lb.

If I missed some big utility on any party let me know! Thanks and I hope this does guide you on who you should pull :P
