Happy New Years! I originally shared this on another community, but after few revisions and feebacks, I figured I'd share this here also.

This is basically and updated&extended version of a comment I made a while ago and where I talked about some of the common idioms/shitty nicknames you'll find in Japanese FFBE message boards.

ブボボ (Bu-Bo-Bo). This is a common term used to describe Orlandeau's DR and it's hit-frame, and it's named that way because of the sound DR makes. Anyone who can chain with DR hit frame is called Bu-Bo-Bo Chainer.

性交 (Seikou). Literally "Sexual intercourse". It's another nickname for DR, since the Japanese name of DR is 聖光爆裂破(Seikou Bakuretsuha)

床屋 (Toko-ya). Literally "Barber". It's nickname for Veritas of the Dark, since his Japanese name is "常闇(Tokoyami) no Veritas"

オル爺 (Oru-ji). Orlandeau's nickname made up of his name and 爺さん(Ji-san), which literally means old man.

オル常/オル床 (Oru-Toko). Orlandeau and VoD combo.

盾おじ (Tate Oji). Tate/Shield Oji/(short for Ojisan) middle aged man. Nickname for Wilhelm.

三太郎 (Santarou). Santa Roselia. San is 3, and Taro is a common Japanese name. It can also be a reference to the 3 famous Tarou (Momotarou, Kintarou, Urashima-Tarou) in Japanese folklore

ゴキ (Goki). Short for ゴキブリ(Gokiburi) or cockroach. A nickname given to Dark Knight Cecil. I started seeing this nickname when he received his Latent ability awakening.

シコール(Shiko-ru). Squall's nickname. Bastardization of Japanese pronunciation of Squall/スコール(Sukoru), which somewhat resembles the word for Whacking off/しこる(Shikoru)

ヒスゴリ (Hisu-Gori). Part hysteria and part gorilla, it's a nickname for Gladious who seem to have temper problem.

光の選手 (Hikari no Sensyu). "Athelete of the light", nick name for WoL. It's a play on the word Warrior/戦士(Senshi) and Athelete/選手(Sensyu)

どすこいレイン (Doskukoi Rain). Nickname for Awakened Rain. Apparently his pose reminded people of the famous sumo pose

おでん (Oden). Common nickname for Odin. This one has been around for ages, and Square-Enix has even made a parody character in Hanjuku-Heroes.

While the Hanjuko-Hero's version of Odin/Oden has pretty normal description for "Zantetsuken(A powerful move that can even cut through metals)", "Gungnir" apparently "Stops enemy movements with thoroughly boiled octopus legs". It's a play on the name since ぐんぐん煮る(Gun-Gun Niru) means boiling thoroughly and it's something you'd do while preparing a hot pot dish like Oden.

かばん (Kaban). A bag. Common nickname for Carbuncle.

前田家 (Maeda-ke). Maeda Clan from the Sengoku period. This used to be a term used to describe trash tier rainbow, like Lightning during the late 6 star meta. It's named after Lightning's famous line "前だけ見てろ"、背中は守る/Mae dake wo mitero, Senaka wa mamoru. I don't know the actual English line, but it translates to "I got your back so just focus on what's in front of you"

鷲田家 (Washida-ke). Washida Clan. Same idea as Maeda-ke, but a term to describe top tier rainbow units. It's a reference to Sakura, since on JP she refers herself as ワシ/Washi, which is unusual for a girl. But more specifically it's a reference to this user review of CG Sakura, in which the author says he is falling in love with Sakura and claims she looks at him as if she is saying "ワシだけをみてほしいのじゃ/Washi dake wo mite hosi no jya", or "I want you to only look at me", among many other things, when she uses her LB.

Here's the actual translation of the review.

Unit Strengths- "Friend nagged me to do a 11 1 at midnight. CG Sakura came home to my surprise. Unavoidable guts pose

Regardless of how strong she actually is, the main issue is with her LB. It seems like every time she fires off her LB she will look my way and I can't help but fall in love with her every time we make eye contact. It's almost as if she is saying "I/Washi will l do it", "Am I/Washi not good enough for you?", "do you love me/Washi?", "I/Washi love you", "I/Washi want you to only look at me". My heart flutters, I want to forget the battle and I just wanna look at you Sakura.. oh Sakura Sakura Sakura, my Sakura-taaan~~"

Unit weakness- "Sakura, it's not that you are weak.. it's that you mean so much to me that I am afraid I am becoming weak inside because of you... oh Sakura Sakura Sakura, my Sakura-taaan~~"

ユニクロ (Uniqlo). Decent equipment you can get easily from Story and events. TMR and gear from hard trial would not be considered Uniqlo.

エアプ (Air-pu) newbie. It's short for air-play, which is a reference to air-guitar. Aletma is often called Air-tema because many believe the people at Altema don't know WTF they are talkign about.

コーヒー民 (coffee no tami). Coffee people. Derogatory term for Dolphins. Derived from a Twitter post that blew up from Misoshiru (GGG). She said that people who don't spend that much on FFBE are like people who go to a cafe, order coffee and stick around forever. Lots of backlash, so people use it sarcastically. Credits to u/sugaki.

水の民 (Mizu no tami). Water people. Derogatory term for F2P. Same idea as above, except referring to people who order water at coffeshop.

35-Director Utsuki. It's a reference to his high-school aptitude test result(think of it as SAT if you are an American), which is supposed to be really low.

釈迦野 (Shaka-no). "Bhudda-no" Title given to Hirono when he goes way beyond expectation to deliver something nice to the community

神野 (Kami-no). "God-no". Title given to Hirono when he does something that benefits the community.

糞野 (Kuso-no) "Poop-no". Title given to Hirono when he does a dick move.

サイコ広野. "Psycho-Hirono". Apparently this nickname was given after one of the audience called Hirono a psycho in one of the fan events, and he misheard that as "最高!(Saikou!)/Awesome!". It has since become a nickname showing just how out of touch Hirono is with the player base.

That's it for now. Feel free to add more if you guys found other idioms/nicknames while browsing the Japanese message boards.
