I wanted to share some tips and spur some discussion around interesting ways you might have incorporated her in your teams. I recorded and uploaded vids of the scenarios described below, linked in their respective sections.
Raid max bonus damage
While there are a lot of ways to build max bonus damage teams for raids, I've found that Rivera allows you to build really efficient teams, opening up slots for Xon to multiply Gil or to allow units to soak up XP/TMR%.
The basic template is:
- Strong solo attacker
- Strong t1 breaker
- Rivera provides 100% imperil, imbue, and 75% killer
The comp that I currently use is Regina, Beowulf, and Rivera:

The best part is that you can easily mash Repeat with this comp.
Rivera's rotation:
- Turn 1: Encore (triple cast) > Reverberation (setup skill) > In the Limelight (imbue and imperil) > Appropriate Killer
If killers don't apply, then just use In the Limelight.
The current raid isn't the greatest example since none of Rivera's killer buffs apply. But her killers (Beast, Demon, Undead) compliment Regina's nicely, with only 1 overlap (Demon). You want to use Regina's Demon killer over Rivera's as it's significantly stronger, but Rivera brings two additional 75% killers to the table that Regina doesn't have, with Beast being fairly common.
While her imperil and imbue is locked to Light, you can see that even without her added killer buffs, Regina can reach max bonus damage cap against a Light-neutral target.
With Kryla's new buffs, she can also provide a similar level of compression by providing 100% imperils and a 70% break on turn 1. That means your other support unit only needs to cover an imbue (and Kryla covers many more elements).
Offensive healer
With the way modern team comps are built using 100% evade and 100% elemental resist, needing a dedicated healer pumping dual cast Curajas or Re-raises every turn seems to be less common.
Even though there are a lot of healers that can multitask exceptionally (Folka, Fid, etc.), Rivera brings something unique to the table.
Most of us bring the standard array of stat buffs, breaks, imbues, and imperils to the fight. If you want to extend damage beyond that, Rivera offers the aforementioned 75% killers and an LB damage increase (25% from her skill, 50% from her max level LB).
These buffs exists elsewhere but putting these tools on your healer really diversifies what they can do in fights with inconsistent incoming damage.
The LB buff may not seem like much, but the extra damage might matter when you want to skip dangerous thresholds or phases of a fight. For example, in the current March of the Demons trial, I was able to OTKO the boss completely, bypassing the need for Fire or Ailment resist and making the fight significantly safer:

Shout out to u/gonzythemage for the sexy Esther companion.
Rivera's rotation:
- Turn 1: Encore > Reverberation > Overture (heal & reraise) > Raise the Tempo on Esther 1 (LB damage buff)
- Turn 2: Encore > Raise the Tempo on Esther 2 > Impish Nocturne (Demon killer) on Esther 1 > Impish Nocturne on Esther 2
- Turn 3: In the Limelight
With a bit of planning, Rivera allows you to both spot heal and setup for a huge burst turn.
Downsides
While she has a very diverse kit, she does have some downsides:
- Reverberation is critical to access the stronger version of her skills. It's a 4 turn cooldown and is active for 2 turns (the turn you use it and the turn following) which means you'll have a few turns where you can't apply amplified buffs. While it's a good opportunity for her to heal, damage typically doesn't come in such a predictable manner.
- Her LB damage increases from both her skill and LB are somewhat small and tends to get diluted by passive LB damage increases on the buffed unit. On other other hand, it provides a straight 25%-50% LB damage increase for units with no LB damage boosts innately (like Kaito).
- Her LB itself provides an LB damage increase for only 1 turn. You'll need to plan ahead and likely sync her LB with your attacker's LB.
- She is locked to Light for her imperil and imbue.
- She is a fucking terrible damage dealer.
Tanking
Oh yea, I guess she has does that whole tanking thing too. Shout out to u/sophie_hp and their awesome post on MemeExvius. I haven't used her much in this capacity yet.
How have you used Rivera?
I'd love to hear about some interesting ways you've used Rivera.
