Should I Farm That - Golden Bomb Rush (3rd anniversary raid), Golden Bomb Battle (raid trial), The Empress of Virtue (Elena/Morgana week 2 trial), and Rivera Edition

My brother is getting married soon so I'll be spending a lot of time writing a speech for his reception (somehow despite all the grief I've given him over the past 4 decades, he still wants me to be in his wedding. sucker!). I gotta put all my creativity into that so SIFT will be a bit bare bones for a while. All other projects are on quasi-hold too.

Raid Loot

I expect to see their moogles as raid drops so I'm so happy I didn't use any ALL moogles on the Dressy Aileen or Kimono Ayaka that I pulled with EX tickets the first week of their banner. If they aren't included... well nothing I can do about that so I'll just have to move on and smile!

Aileen's Dress (limit: 1)
[clothes]: 50 MP, 24 ATK, 30 DEF, 15 SPR

Ignoring STMRs, this is the second highest flat ATK on any clothes. Hyoh's Clothes (5 star TMR) is higher with 28 ATK and another 30% ATK with a greatsword equipped. Suzume's Kimono (4 star TMR) is a tad lower with 21 ATK but has an extra 20% ATK with a katana equipped.

This is a very good pick up for new players and any vets that didn't luck into something better (or needs to gear a 2nd or 3rd attacker)

A-Type Rifle Scope
[accessory]: 20 ATK, 20% ATK

20% ATK translates to around 60 ATK (top units are a tad over 300 ATK after stat doors) assuming you aren't hitting the stat cap.

On a TDH unit this is the equivalent to a 35 ATK accessory. On a TDW unit (assuming all units get the 200% cap in the future like JP) this is the equivalent to a 40 ATK accessory. Of course that assumes you don't need those accessory slots for the eqATK boost.

Definitely a solid pick up for newer players. Probably not worth getting for vets.

Floral Obi
[accessory]: 30 HP, 30 SPR

The 30 HP is laughable. That might as well not be there. We also almost never equip accessories for SPR and very few units have any sort of eqSPR boost. On top of that, SPR is one of the harder stats to reach the 400% cap so you're almost always better off with a percent increase to SPR if you need it.

Third Anniversary Party Guest
[materia]: 10% SPR, recover 5% MP per turn

Slightly better than just refresh. Very low chance you'll ever use this.

Raid Trial Loot

Ayaka's Crimson Umbrella
[staff]: 14 ATK, 108 SPR, light element

Ignoring STMRs, the only staves with higher SPR are Summer Folka & Citra's TMR (5 star, 120 SPR, 20% SPR), Holy Wand (trial, 120 SPR), and Yuna's TMR (5 star, 116 SPR).

This is probably worth keeping but don't be surprised if it doesn't see much use thanks to Holy Wand.

Rivera's STMR
Formal Suit
[robe]: 28 DEF, 35 MAG, 74 SPR, 30% light/dark resist, Prestige => Reduce MP consumed by 30%

This is the only robe that gives more than 10% to both light and dark resists. 74 SPR is right about all the other STMR robes that focus on SPR over MAG.

The reduced MP consumption probably only really matters for Rivera. Her kit is pretty MP heavy once you are t-casting.

Frankly, I'm a bit disappointed with this one despite it being pretty good overall. Just disappointing for a GL original unit.

Rivera's TMR
Conductor's Baton
[instrument]: 200, MP, 20 MAG, 90 SPR, Sonorous Hope => 3% MP per turn and use Improvised Serenade every turn (recover 500 HP and 40 MP to two random allies)

Passive MP recovery is great but the RNG aspect makes it too unreliable to rely on. It should give you breathing room in tighter fights though.

I can see this being really good on hide-cheese strategies. If you only have 2 or 3 units, this might be enough to keep you going without taking a turn to recover MP.

Elena/Morgana event week 2 trial

Imperial Ambitions
[materia]: 20% MAG/SPR, 50% LB fill rate

The MAG and SPR alone are terrible (same as Trey's TMR and nobody uses that) so it'll all come down to whether or not the LB fill rate is useful to you. Personally, I find 50% to be too low to be the primary use of a materia.

Accelerating Power (SQ purchase) gives 100% LB fill rate. You might want to consider that instead.

Astral Blade
[sword]: 89 ATK, 52 MAG, light element, 30% inflict blind/confuse, 2H (1.05-1.55x dmg var, 50% acc)

It only took 5 2H swords before we had two with the same variance. This matches A Fry's STMR.

We still don't have many 2H sword options. Angel Slayer is a joke weapon, Elena's TMR is locked to her, A Fry's STMR is a STMR, and Soul Sabre (FFVI) is a limited item.

Due to the light element, as far as hybrid units are concerned only A Fry and Elena will want to use this (and possibly Fry if you have her STMR and want to chain with A Fry or Elena). Elena will prefer her TMR just for the trust passive but it's possible this is better IF you have her STMR AND you want to do light damage AND you don't want to use her ice and light skill AND you have an external light imperil (she could exclude her light imbue skill). I'll leave it to the other number crunchers to sort that out.

Unless you're doing a MAG build, Soul Sabre (FFVI) will almost always win out thanks to the higher ATK and significantly higher variance.
