Akstar Bundles (Exp 5/16)
Post Body

Hi folks,

This week's bundles aren't very good. Well, they haven't been good in a while. What's next? We'll see.

This is going to be one of my last posts in a while. I'm writing this post though, for a few reasons:

  1. For those who were waiting for weekly-updates, I apologize. There won't be more of these posts coming soon for multiple reasons. The good news is, the spreadsheet will still be updated, and there's a separate, pinned/perpetual post on my Reddit profile where you can leave comments if you want to.

  2. I'd like to also announce that /u/wiintah has volunteered to keep it up to date as well! Whoo! (Everything that goes wrong is his fault /s) Now there's two of us!

  3. Now the big one (aka blahblahblah)

Been wanting to write this post since the last two weeks. Here it is now. I've mentioned this before, but I simply maintained this copy of the spreadsheet over the past year from another redditor /u/pavfeira/ since (s)he stopped the updates since it was one of the few ways I thought I could contribute.

Back then, bundles were sometimes good, surprisingly. While Lapis is overpriced, and our spending habits are very subjective, the spreadsheet could break things down and actually help everyone keep informed.

Times have changed though. While there are a bunch of things I could really complain about, what matters is that the game's heading towards a direction where "effective" use of money boils down to Lapis per dollar($). Other additions to bundles like units for sale and weird ticket rules also make things a little bit more of a hassle. I just have a hard time seeing Gumi letting the Lapis flow.

I've always been a stickler for sticking to the math, and it does take some work to get something new into it. Unfortunately I haven't found more time (and instead have less these days) to kick things up, or find more data and update the sheet with new formulas like I wanted. So instead of half-assing it, or god-forbid getting super subjective; It'll be easier to just take a step back, and call it a day.

I'd like to thank everyone for sticking around and those who actually read the posts! It's been fun in its own way, but I think I've peaked with the post titles. (sidebar: seriously... translator-kun, "First and Last?" WTF what happened to "Alpha and Omega"?) Thanks to the mods as well!

As always, keep in mind that you can make a copy of the sheet to modify as your own!
