Elemental Tetris is officially making its appearance on Global and some units have a great opportunity to shine: Marie, (SB) Dark Fina, Yan or even Chloe! But the one who takes the cake is Kunshira.
Not only can she provide 100% resistance to 3 of the 4 relevant elements for this fight, she's also a very potent damage dealer, especially when paired with Barbariccia. The good news is, only her CD skill needs to be enhanced. The bad news is, unless you're going for a 5-turn kill you need 2 Kunshiras (yours and friend's) since her CD lasts 4 turns on a 7 turn cooldown.
She helped me erase Gilgamesh and Asura, yet pushes the bar even higher by completing this latest trial in 14 turns (no stmr).

Team: D Rain, Rem, Barb, MS Nichol, Kunshira x2
Builds: http://ffbeEquip.com/builder.html?server=GL#db5990a0-5cca-11e9-9e10-93b8df10f245
Requirements: fire/water/dark resist at min 150% total (wind/lightning at min 30% total), immunity to most status ailments on everyone if possible (friend included, otherwise Rem and Barb can take turns with healing prayer/rikku's pouch)
Demon Rain (full evade, phoenix) covers, provokes, entrusts and casts Molten Armor (CD) on turn 9. Can be replaced by most tanks, even WoL.
Rem (lakshmi, bushido freedom) on charm/stop resist duty, curaja if necessary (used it once or twice), aoe reraise on turn 9 (safety net), raise in case of mistake or miscalculation (twice on my end). Can be replaced by LM Fina, Myra, Rena, probably Folka and Ayaka too.
Barbariccia (leviathan) imperils wind and lightning by 120% (CD) or 104% (LB), regens hp/mp after her set-up self buff, caps with sunder (enhance it already), rikku's pouch duty. Not essential but a nice bonus to the team. Can be replaced by Karlette, a buffer, a finisher, a dedicated provoker.
MS Nichol (carbuncle.. I like handicaps ok!) caters for the missing element (dark 70%), buffs the party and LBs as often as possible to take care of the breaks. Don't be like me, equip an appropriate esper (diabolos, anima, siren, even ifrit). Can be replaced most effectively by Yuraisha but also by Zarg (requires 10% more fire/water/dark resist) or Ignis (requires 20% more)
Kunshira (tetra sylphid, 175% bird killers, 75-175% beast killers): they take turn buffing fire, water and wind with their CD skill (turn 1, turn 5, turn 10, 15, etc but not 9!) and fire off their tempest spellblade without ever fearing Siren's retaliation. This way, you can complete 2 missions very easily: you'll deal lightning damage more than 30 times anyway, phoenix and leviathan can be summoned within the first 3 turns.
If you want to take out Ifrit and Siren on the same turn it's totally possible to chip Ifrit's hp by chaining water spellblade (or break him) until they're both around 15% hp, then weave Barb's CD/LB onto Kunshiras' tempest spellblade (recommended to break Ifrit the turn before with her other CD skill)
Caveat: turn 9 is the only turn which could prove difficult (9 5n to be more precise but the battle shouldn't last that long anyway). Normally you would apply Raising Elements on the team on turn 9 but it's going to be dispelled by Ifrit on the very same turn leaving you open on turn 10 which could end the run. Luckily, there are several options available in order to survive turn 9:
D Rain has 75% fire resist (CD skill conveniently available every 5 turns) and MS Nichol has 70% water/dark. This amounts to 215% resistance for fire/water/dark, as opposed to the usual 270%. 55% more elemental resistance in total for each unit would be a hefty requirement. Now even without these 55% it's still possible to survive and even more so if Nichol's 40% mitigation is up, since the 18% incoming damage would become 11% (55/3=18%=0.18 ; 100-40=60%=0.6 ; 0.18*0.6=0.11=11%)
Since we want to play it safe, Rem has an AOE reraise on a CD skill with a 6 turn cooldown.
In practice, only my Kunshira bit the dust on turn 9 (thank you reraise) so it wasn't bad at all especially considering Ifrit was buffed.
I will keep my Kunshira up for now. Shall you be interested, drop your ID in the comments and I'll add you (my IGN : Neptune3). Thanks!
Edit : u/Mephimaus has built a very sturdy Kunshi with full ailment resist and 400% fire/water/wind/dark resist, while sporting 1.1k/1.6k in atk/mag.
Here's her info: IGN Mephi ID 271,947,584
I updated mine in the process (-50% killers, 100% elt resist), thanks Mephi !
