What's that?

For the few who don't know, Andapp is a program that let you play some of the JP games on your computer, without going through an emulator like Nox (Consider it like a launcher). And before people ask, it's ONLY for JP versions of the games so GL isn't concerned. This new version add the possibility to record and to screenshot directly from the launcher. Is it good? How does it work? Well, we'll see that in a second.

Is it good?

Let me tell you from the get-go. The recording part is so-so, you'd probably be better off using a third party program to record, I'll explain why later. For the screenshots, it's not too bad since you can fix the size and the position of the recording window where you want to screenshot and it will remain the same. However, it can be an okayish way to record if you really have nothing to use, which, should be unlikely but still.

How does it work?

Once you opened AndApp, go to the "ツール" tab, the 4th one. It's the social media one. At the bottom left, you'll see a big red "REC". When clicking on it for the first time, it should bring the options with several to activate or not. Here is what the options are :

Below that, you'll have two more "options" which are the folders where your screenshots (upper choice) and your videos (lower choice) are going.

Once you're done, you'll be asked to choose what you want to record. Don't worry, you can change that anytime. A dark bar will appears on top of the window you choose. There is 5 choices:

• The first with the arrow pointing down let you choose the size of the recording section. It starts with "Custom" then "Select the recording range" (you'll have the possibility to choose exactly where you want to record/ss) and finally, some basic resolutions.

• The camera let you screenshot the section you chose. It will appears on the launcher under the 5th tab, "キャプチャ"

• The shooting camera with a timer is for recording. Recordings done will appears on the launcher under the 5th tab as well.

• The wheel will let you go to the options again, would you need to change something.

• Do I really need to explain what the X does?

Now that I explained how it's working let's see things that should know about this new "features"

Things I need to know

As I just said, there is few things you need to know about this new feature about recording and "screenshotting", if you end up wanting to use it.

1. You can easily customize the size of the recording window, it's not limited to one specific window. It will also show you the size of the said recording window, in case it's necessary.

2. It's a screen recording not a program recording. It means that anything that appears on the recording window will appears on the final recording, where for a program recording (Like Fraps), anything that would be in front of the recorded window won't be taken into account.

3. You can record up to 30 min with the inbuilt recorder.

4. The quality of the recording/screenshot depend on the resolution of your screen. However, the framerate for recording is lacking, being around 20~25 FPS, even for good pc. You may have some lags when you try to record, which is why I suggested to use something else. But the inbuilt recorder let you record specific areas, which is still an advantage.

5. The size of the videos are small. A 3 min recording weighted 50 Mb. This is definitively a plus, if you don't mind the video being laggy.

6. The outline of the recording window will always stay on top of every window.

7. Everything is saved on local and can't be uploaded directly from the launcher.
