Auto-cast
Most buffs granted by auto-cast are undispellable. There are few types of auto-cast, and only this one grant undispellable buffs:
- ⭕[Passive #35 and #56] Auto-cast X at the start of battle or after being revived
These auto-cast don’t grant undispellable buffs:
- ❌[Passive #66] (Chance to) auto-cast X every turn
- ❌[Passive #10002] Auto-cast X every turn if Y is alive
- ❌[Active #132] Auto-cast after X turn
There are certain buffs granted by auto-cast that can still be dispelled:
- General mitigation (physical and magic mitigation are undispellable)
- HP barrier
- Mirage
[Bug] Temporarily dispelling the undispellable
There is a bug that allows you to dispel the undispellable, but it will only stay dispelled that same turn. Assuming the undispellable buff has turns remaining, it will reappear next turn.
The method is very specific:
- You need a unit with more than 1 undispellable buffs. External undispellable buff such as auto-regen materia/accessory will also count.
- Overwrite some buffs, but not all, with stronger buffs.
- Dispel the unit with non damaging dispel abilities. e.g. Dispel, Dispelga, Kryla’s Nullifying Chant.
- The stronger buff layered undispellable buff will be dispelled on that turn.
Other undispellable buffs
There are certain abilities that are inherently undispellable like enable skills. Untested but likely: mod boost, LB boost, and other things from "Other Effect" category.
“Auto-cast after x turn” effect persist after death?
Qin’s skills are full of these delayed auto-cast, but what’s interesting is that he will still auto-cast them after being raised from death. We can’t replicate this behavior on JP.
This means that this skill is either bugged on GL, or the 5th parameter “1” indicates that it persist through death. All GL skills so far have “1” flag, while all JP skills have “0”, so we can’t prove them until they come to GL.
Unbreakable unit
During the last app update, Kryla’s Forbidden Magic was changed. Previously, it was casting anti-break skill at the beginning of battle for 3 turns. Similar to stop/charm update, it’s changed so that it’s no longer auto casting another skill, and instead uses a passive that does the same thing.
However, since this is passive, it works all the time and cannot be removed. This makes Kryla the first and only unbreakable unit in the game, even counting JP.
She has some skills with obsolete effects due to the change:
- Dark Covenant: Inflict all stats break to caster
- Dark Anathema: Remove all stats break to caster
Edit: This is fixed.
Armor inflicting ailment
Rice Cake Shield is coded to inflict disease (100% chance) instead of resisting disease. This is the only armor in the game that is inflicting ailment, and works exactly like a weapon with ailment.
I doubt this is intentional though, judging from the description, and it would imply that eating a rice cake will give you a food poisoning. It will likely be fixed later.
Edit: This is fixed.
Magic evasion
Unlike physical evasion, magic evasion do not stack. It uses the strongest one you have, so no unit can get higher than 20% right now.
You also cannot trigger magic evasion by attacking your own unit.
Dual wield and different hands
When you are dual wielding, you would normally attack with right hand’s weapon followed by left hand’s. This works with normal attack or physical damage skill. The ATK stats on both hands are separate.
In equipment menu, right hand is on the left side, labelled R.HAND.
Multicast
When multicasting with a skill (i.e. W/T-cast), you will only attack with your right hand’s weapon. Left hand’s weapon will function as stats stick if you are using EQ DW, or elemental and ailment addition.
LB
LB uses your strongest hand’s weapon to attack.
Weapon Variance
Only right hand’s weapon variance will be used on all attacks while dual wielding. This works on regular DW skill, multicast, or LB.
Increase ATK of normal attacks
This is a niche effect, most of you probably don’t know what this is. You can find them on Yun, it says something like
Increase ATK (400%, max 800%) for the next normal attack to caster
Sometimes within the last 2 years this effect seems to have changed, and no one noticed (edit: someone did). Back then only the first hit is boosted, now it works with multi-hit attacks and dual wield as long as it’s normal attack. All hits will be boosted.
The buff expires immediately after 1 turn if it’s not used. The only exception is if you use the same skill again to refresh.
The way this effect works is by adding the ATK value while you are attacking. You can confirm this by long pressing the unit. It stacks with other ATK boosts.
BiS Yun should potentially able to hit 5600 ATK with 2500 ATK before buff, then use:
External ATK buff (Otogiri is best) > Inferno Rage > Inferno Rage > Normal attack Zargabaath’s Berserk
