My tips:

  • Use light damage for one turn turn after 80% threshold, two turns after 50%, three turns after 20%.

    • Counter tank with a light weapon is an easy way to ensure light damage is done when needed.
  • AoE imperils for 75% to dark and water, so we aim for 175% after buff resists for these elements. The AoE water attacks can be covered by a magic tank, the ST dark attack ignores cover and provoke, so we prioritize dark resist on party.

  • You will need to bring the following:

    • Ailment resist skill Debuff resist skill Stop resist skill.
  • Mages are a better option here due to easy elemental gearing and CD's lower SPR vs DEF. Any high level DPS should be able to clear this if geared for correct resist and killers.

  • Above is the team I used and found it very smooth.

  • Important notes:

    • Counter & light weapon on provoke tank.
    • No cover is needed if you use Fenrir on turn 5n / Turn after threshold or have enough dark resist on party.
    • Healer can cast Holy (the spell) via kit or Holy Wand as backup.
    • An ailment resistance buff (Lenna, Folka, Awakened Rain are ideal)
    • Debuff resistance buff
    • Stop resist buff (Lakshmi works for this)
    • Elemental buffs for water and dark (Nichol is ideal)
    • Strong breaker
  • On a follow up run, I found evade Tidus to be an ideal tank due to his innate 30% evade, counters, and 100% water resist. Entrust also comes in handy.

  • Light element weapons for support units to ensure you can seal Chaotic Darkness on turn/s after thresholds as needed.

  • This team is more of a "no damage taken" style strategy.

  • CG Nichol can replace Future Hope here as he is there for the 100% dark resist buff. Just need to have another source of ATK/MAG breaks if you take any extra turns past the 50% threshold.

  • Plan here is to set up for a big burst turn after we cross 50% to avoid most of the annoying mechanics of this fight. Kimono Fina has very strong burst and isn't too difficult to obtain thanks to the free one via event.
