Hello!

I'm a felllow player who also plays League of Legends. Being a mid-tier player, I really like to know which units are stronger each game patch, and they're usually are seen through Tiers.

About Tiers: Just to give a bit of context, tiers used will be 3: God Tier means the unit is one of the best in its role. Good Tier means the unit can get the job done well, although not Top Tier, and Average Tier means the unit can work but will need more thinking and gear to it.

EDIT: DISCLAIMER - Unit in the same tier are all rated equally: Wilhelm and Sieghard are God Tier physical tanks, but even tho Wilhelm's name comes first, he isnt better than Sieghard. They're on the same level.

Units will be divided in 3 rankings: Damage Dealers, Tanks and Supports. Damage Dealers will include tiers for Physical, Hybrid and Magic chaining, and Physical and Magic finishing (since there are close to no good hybrid finishers except maybe VoL. Tanks into Physical/Magical tanking and Supports into Healers, Buffers and Debuffers.

Also: The ranking is purely based on unit usage. Which means I used each unit a good bit to try it and see how it does work in game, either as a friend or as owned unit. It is also subjective, and all units on the same tier are equally good, even tho they may differ on the damage done.

Damage Units: They'll be ranked based on 1) Available Gear (which includes stuff like good elements/killers available through their best type of gear - like Hyoh has good Fire and Thunder greatswords to use) 2) Damage Done (quite self-explanatory) and 3) Flexibility (how much of its core build can be altered - how you can swap a 50% atk materia for a 75% killer without affecting the unit's core).

Tank Units: They'll be based in 2 types, Physical and Magical. Their rating will be based on 1) Bulkiness (how much damage the unit handles, and that means both its cover-typer and splash damage - how much damage from a physical AoE a magic cover can handle is very important). 2) Gear Selection (able to hit 100% element resist / evade / innate provoke). 3) Side Utility (what else can the unit do other than tanking).

Support Units: They will be divided in Healers, Buffers and Debuffers. Ranked by 1) Role Power (healing/buff/debuff numbers) 2) Off Turns (how many off turns the unit has to do something external like Crazy Day, Pod or Pouch).

DAMAGE

Starting the tiers, damage units will be classified.

Physical Chaining

God Tier Good Tier Average Tier
Hyoh Nalu Tidus
Pyro Glacial Lasswell Queen Veritas of the Dark
2B Aloha Lasswell Reberta
A2 Lenneth Nyx

Notes:PG Lass deals less damage than Hyoh, but has AMAZING gear selection (lots of katanas, greatswords and swords and also materias for these weapon types. Lenneth deals top tier damage but only chains with herself and is really hard to find. Nyx also deals a lot of damage, but requires you to sit down to him and deal with Fixed Dice horrible variance

Hybrid Chaining

God Tier Good Tier Average Tier
Kurasame Kunshira -
Felix Veritas of the Light -
Fryevia - -
Malphasie - -

Notes: Small number of viable hybrid damage units available. All do quite a close job, with both Good Tier units being a bit behind. Also, no A. Fryevia ranking since she wasnt "released" yet and have a really limited number of copies.

Magic Chaining

God Tier Good Tier Average Tier
Tiana Grim Lord Sakura Lunera
Trance Terra Circe Rem
Christine Freya Dark Fina
Barbariccia Livid Shanttoto Seabreeze Dark Fina

Notes: Barbie is very versatile, thus getting GL Sakura's spot at God Tier. Freya does good damage, but same problem as Lenneth.

Physical Finishing

God Tier Good Tier Average Tier
Veritas of the Flame Balthier Squall
Duke Olive Luneth
Reberta Viktor Dark Knight Cecil

Notes: Duke and Reberta are good jumpers. Olive deals good damage and is insanely easy to gear.

Magical Finishing

God Tier Good Tier Average Tier
Dragonlord Emperor Livid Shanttoto
Blossom Sage Sakura - -
Barbariccia - -

Notes: Very few magical finishers. Barbie is good using Raging Winds, Emperor is Good cuz it takes some time to ramp up.

TANKS

Physical Tanking

God Tier Good Tier Average Tier
Wilhelm Basch Gladiolus
Sieghard Lillith Viktor
Mercenary Ramza Demon Rain Elfreeda

Notes: God Tier has monstrous physical eHP and can gear for evasion pretty easily. Basch and Lillith have both type of cover but aren't that bulky, so they'll fall under good in both rankings.

Magical Tanking

God Tier Good Tier Average Tier
Awakened Rain Basch Mystea
White Knight Noel Lillith Shylt
Beryl - -

Notes: See Physical Cover section for Basch/Lillith explanation. Mystea and Shylt are the only 6* tanks here since they can still be used for 100% elemental resist fights, but are quite average. SUPPORTS

Healers

God Tier Good Tier Average Tier
Lotus Mage Fina Rem Citra
Ayaka Eiko Rena
Yuna - -

Notes: Pretty much standard. Citra included for her chaining healing a bit, even tho it is a bit weak.

Buffing

God Tier Good Tier Average Tier
Zargabaath Maritime Strategist Nichol Ramza
Elephim Lunera Soleil
Seaside Nichol Roy -

Notes: Seaside Nichol is very powerful, Zargabaath very flexible. MS Nichol will rise to God Tier once his 7* comes. Soleil isnt that bad but is squishy AF.

Debuffing

God Tier Good Tier Average Tier
Kryla Heavenly Technician Lid Knight Delita
2B Machina Beatrix
Loren Ramza Basch

Notes: Lid suffers from low 6* stats. KD and Beatrix are LB-centric but she also brings 30% mitigation on LB. Tim is okay-ish but squishy.

And this finishes the rankings. If you really don't agree with something that's fine, since it is subjective as said.

Also, this doesnt mean that units not here sucks. They're just not meta, honestly.

If you find some bad formatting right after posting, I'll be looking for it (my first bigger post on Reddit) too, and will try to solve it quickly.

Thanks!

Edit 1: Added Kryla to God Tier (she completely slipped my mind, sadly)

Edit 2: Took off Spoiler tags (since they're bad at mobile apparently). Also added a big Disclaimer at the beggining since it seems people were a bit confused by positioning inside the tiers.
