Lost Review - Colors: Batch 1 of the 7stars
Post Body

Intro:

Welcome to the colored issue #1 of the Lost Reviews. We are the Lost Cause and today, we are coloring the Reddit with new information about the first batch of 7★ units that includes many units...

Ramza: Is he a buffer?
Delita: Breaks for days
Lightning: Not again .-.
Orlandeau: Wot m8
SBDFina: Too many letters
Dark Fina: Ditto
Wilhelm: A beefier mustache
Luneth: Is he a finisher?
Marie: Green mages aren’t meta anymore, why bother?
Gilgamesh: Greg is back… oh wait… he is gone again
Dark Knight Cecil: Better at self harm (please seek help if you think you relate to DKC, go to a psychologist or something)
Olive: Say hello to her little friend!
Overall: This cheese is confusing

Disclaimer: the tables will be updated with the 7★ units within the week, they are yet to be updated.

Disclaimer v2: I might add the exact abilities and effects under the units, still thinking about it.

Disclaimer v3: The reviews might be too skewed as we don't have 7★ baselines and averages yet, so those are mostly compared to 6★ units.

Disclamer v4: this time it isn’t my fault, I just wanted to say that all 7★s have insanely higher base stats than their 6★ versions, so do keep that in mind.

Ramza:

Now, he is a better breaker than buffer, he gets a break to DEF and SPR as well as his old ATK and MAG ones (separate) that he can W-cast now, he also gets a chain that can be used by him and Delita only (for now at least). And finally, he can give his allies a nice barrier. He has 3 free turns as a breaker which he can use to buff all his allies in ATK and MAG by using his LB, entrust (his LB becomes easier to fill because of the 50% LB fill rate he gets), sing (although it might be a bit risky in some fights) or use a spell like raise (from Phoenix) or bar-ga (from Carbuncle).

Delita:

Delita seems to be leaning on being a dark chainer or damage dealer type of unit, but he becomes a better breaker too, getting to W-cast his DEF and SPR breaks; though, he still doesn’t get ATK/MAG breaks. Needing DEF and SPR breaks at the same time isn’t usually the case either, making his new breaking potential almost useless for most comps. He does get a new chain to chain with Ramza and a 120% dark imperil CD skill with 2 turn CD (available T2) attached to an 1-hitter. He also gets a lot of ATK and MP when using his sword, making him deal good damage - amazing even when taking the imperil into account (no W-cast of his chain might make him fall off later on).

Lightning:

Lightning goes from an utterly useless unit to a very good chainer, chaining with Tidus. She also buffs on all stats when using her main chain, making her much more powerful. She also has a huge lightning imperil with 2 turn CD (castable T2) increasing the elemental coverage of the Quick Hit chain. Her elemental finishers also become a lot stronger… Still almost unusable for damage, especially that she works better as a TDW unit and that her animation is long, her Crushing blow also becomes stronger in damage when using her TMR. As for passives, she gets a lot of more ATK and a little bit of sustainability (MP and HP sustainability),

Orlandeau:

The main upgrade he gets is for his LB, making it fully heal him, inflict stop and break DEF by a huge amount. He also gains more damage on his Divine Ruination and gets some ATK passives that increase his damage even more. He also gains an almost useless CD skill (because it is a finisher) and a somewhat usable 6LS generating skill (12LS with DW)

SBDFina:

She becomes a Nado chainer as well as a Flood chainer; though, she doesn’t have Aeroja to cap her Nado nor Waterja nor Thundaja to cap her Flood, she does have the -ga variants. She also gets a lot of magic especially when using whips and her TMR. She gets an even higher modified on her Utopia making it a decent ability as well. But her most powerful skills are her CD skills. First, she has 2 chaining moves that chain with each other (but with different starting frames) that deal water or wind damage and imperil their respective elements (they both have 2 turn CD). Second, she has an ability with a very long CD of 10 turns but available at turn 1 which gives her a huge buff and imperils with a really high imperil. Finally, she has an elemental resistance buff to all allies for 4 elements. Making her a very good magic chainer and finisher for now.

Dark Fina:

She gets a very similar treatment to SBDFina but she gets to use Quake instead of Flood and her main element is dark. Her elemental resistance is also different. Other than that mostly everything is the same. (She also gets an ST charm for 1 turn)

Wilhelm:

Wilhelm becomes a beastly tank after being awakened. He gets even more tankiness and a physical cover in addition to defensive breaks and a huge mitigation. He also gains a CD ability that allows him to mitigate damage by 90% for 1 turn and it has a CD that is not extremely high either. In relation to his passives, he gets DEF/HP 50% and SPR 20% in addition to 1 death dodge when using his TMR and a new counter that gives AoE LB fill rate for a turn, which is amazing because it is technically free and will almost always be up.

Luneth:

Luneth becomes a better finisher, able to use the empowered Cut Through (Slay) without wasting a turn of capping, even though Blade Torrent only deals a small amount of damage when it is cast the first time, its damage increases quickly, reaching 10x after only 3 uses. Luneth also gain an insane chain that is on CD and non-castable till the 3rd turn and only chains with a dupe of himself and only if there is only 1 enemy… If all the planets line up, this is an amazing chain, he can also use Blade Torrent to chain up to 3? 5? 11? on off-turns when used as a chainer (not really a chain but… fills up time). His LB also becomes more powerful than before, dealing massive damage and massively breaking a single enemy and imperiling 4 elements (the ones OK uses, making him an amazing finisher to be used with TDH FD OK) and restores MP when using his own TMR. He also gains TDW and some passives that slightly increases his stats.

Marie:

Marie gains elemental resist buffs to light and dark as well, but those 2 are combined in a single skill (non-DCable), she also gains a nice barrier and MP refresh to all allies on a CD skill of 4 turns and an OP ability… that has a 6 turn CD and only lasts 1 turn… but it gives 50% A-miti, 200% on defensive stats and 200% elemental resistances for that turn, it can be useful sometimes but it can’t save her from being a very niche unit.

Gilgamesh:

Becomes a decent unit as long as you keep his upgraded LB skills up. He gets a lot of killers and a lot of elemental resistances and ATK passives allowing him to deal high damage, especially when DWing 2 different types of weapons and using as many Genji equips as possible (but that is usually overkill). The unlocked abilities are; a strong HE chain (light ele built in), an 8fr 5-hit hybrid dark chain, a finisher that gives 60% imperil and an instant KO (which can also be 6x finisher). His tri-attack becomes a 6x chain and his Snow Petal becomes an ~8.6x mod dealing good damage without unlocking the LB skills or can be used to unlock the LB skills. He also has a huge rotation to use a single jump which I can’t see a use for.

Dark Knight Cecil:

DKC gains a lot of increased ATK and a DH when he uses his GS. He seems to be the best unit to deal with humans as for now, having 100% killers when using his TMR and another 100% as a 3 turn buff on his CD, that is also attached to a really powerful finisher and is usable on the first turn. His LB has also become much stronger and can deal high amounts of damage. DKC also has 100% dark resist now and has a weirdly placed but usable LB substitute of 50% HP/MP fill and 50% A-miti to 1 ally. He deals a lot of damage compared to other units for now… but he did not get an increase in the damage of his Soul Eater nor did he get any skill that would allow him to survive the power creep at all.

Olive:

Last but not least, Olive becomes much stronger especially when used against machines. She gains a total of 250% DH with her Sparky and 40% ATK, 40% HP and 20% MP. This is not the place to drool yet, her actives are where all the fun is. She gains a new finisher that buffs her by 150% and gives her 100% Machina killers, a suicide that imperils by 100% and breaks by 70% as well as deal massive damage on a 5 turn CD that can be cast on T1 (amazing for FTKs) and an AoE entrust… that casts revive on self for 5 turns but has a 5 turn CD that can also be cast on T1. Barriers and auto-revive allow her to survive / easily recover from using her huge nuke. Olive also turns her True Shot 10x (making her deal much more damage in non-FTK cases) and her Shattering Shot 4.5x (increasing her damage when she doesn’t want to commit suicide by a bit.
