Backstory: I started a challenge for myself about 7-8 months ago to finish as many trials as possible with a team of units that become a part of the main party in Season 1. It was smooth sailing until Aigaion's 10 Million HP ass got released and the quest became pretty much impossible.

Well, I've made no progress at all within the past 8 months.

I mean, wtf was I supposed to do? Use Nichol as my main damage dealer and kill the arm 10 times before moving onto the body?

Luckily, we have the JP version that's ahead by 8-10 months, and have powercreeped far enough for me to finally think about attempting this.

Victory

Same deal as before - I limit myself to using units that only appear in the main party of the story. This includes Rain, Lasswell, Fina, Jake, Lid, Nichol, Sakura and Dark Fina.

Yes, I arbitrarily included Dark Fina and excluded Reagan & other FFBE originals for the sake of an arbitrary challenge.

Units used:

Rain:

Geared with maximum effective physical HP. Fking scrub still can't tank the punch without defending even after I wasted all my HP/DEF pots on him. He basically uses provoke, pray that Aigaion targets Lasswell instead, and defend until provoke wears off again.

Lasswell:

Must have 3★ Phoenix equipped for self re-raise, or this strategy basically falls apart. He must have the highest ATK within the party, along with decent survivability. He also has the Omega Trial Materia equipped for that sweet 55% SPR break.

Fina:

Gear for survivability, has Frozen Hurricane material equipped for chaining purposes.

Nichol:

Geared with maximum EVO MAG gear & equipped with 3★ Leviathan to cap off Tornado/Frozen hurricane chain. I may or may not regret spending UoC tickets for extra CG Nichols for his STMR.

Dark Fina:

Okay, I admit I cheated here. I awakened her to 7★ to learn Tornado in order for her to chain with Frozen Hurricane.

But hey, you nitpickers can go start your own challenge!

On a serious note, Dark Fina could easily be replaced if I had 2 Pods or if I could find a friend story unit with Frozen Hurricane equipped. Her job was literally to chain for one turn, and auto attack for orbs.

Strategy

Survive --> Gather orbs --> Chain & cap with Leviathan --> Tadah!

So what have we learned from this?

• I need to be more productive at work and stop wasting company resources

• Don't waste stat pots on story characters for entertainment purposes

• Powercreep is real
