Well, I was having some thoughts on units recently...
And Auron isnt in the game yet. Looking at the FFX units, we have a chainer (Tidus), Healer (Yuna), Mage (Lulu) and Useless-Character (Wakka) EDIT: Rikku as an amazing support. Sorry xd. Everything okay then.
But we miss 3 key units in the game, IMO. Jecht, Auron and Kihmari.
Kihmari is hard to get by because of how blue magic works, so I'll leave him aside.
Jecht and Auron then will probably be 5-star bases (I hope at least...) and to avoid 2 units from the same game to have redundant roles, here's what I thought:
Jecht: Finisher
Auron: Breaker Tank.
Looking at Auron's sphere grid, he can learn pretty good break and tanking abilities, so a cool kit for him in FFBE would be like that:
Role: Tank/Breaker. TMR: Guardian Soul (30% hp, 50% TDH) --> Will explain why TDH later. STRM: Masamune (FFX) --> Katana, 150 atk, 2-handed variance, 30% def, 30% hp.
Abilities: Mars Crest: Immunity to Confusion and Petrify.
Mars Sigil: 100% TDH equipped with a Katana.
Legendary Guardian: 100% chance to counter physical attacks.
Sentinel: 100% provoke with 50% mitigation auto-guard (as swipe down, so multiplicative mitigation. Works that way on the game itself. Wouldn't be able to swipe down) Edit: No mitigation, just auto-guard. That way it is a 50% mitigation that you cant stack with the swipe down. Fair enough I guess.
Entrust
Full Break : 50% all stats break, AoE.
Null Weapon: ST 65% ATK/MAG break.
Null Armor: ST 65% DEF/SPR break.
Tornado Guard: Standard Physical Cover.
LB: Banishing Blade: 30 crysts, AoE 75% full break.
Now:
Why a counter tank?
Auron's celestial weapon reflects this, giving him counteratk ability. Also, his skill set reflects perfectly a tank breaker. Lots of people around the sub say they want Auron and they want him to be a finisher, but I dont think that reflects him at all.
The TDH stuff is to make him a TDH counter much like Demon Rain is to GL. He could do some serious damage to physical bosses with a good build, a good 2H weapon for tanks, and a good DH materia for himself. That way, he can get high DEF, HP and ATK with variance.
Don't know if that would be too broken for 7* meta. I'm not that good at balance. And Auron is one of my favorites so I could be totally biased. Take this lightly. Cheers
