An explanation on pulling for units with...
Post Body

Ok. It seems like everyday on here i see atleast one post on here asking about wanting to pull X Unit off of Y banner, but has to use Z method (yes i am using math terms here, and for some of you this will make more since here in a bit). Can it be done? More often than not i keep seeing people say no, because the Unit in particular is a limited time unit and its off banner. This Answer is incorrect, mostly. And i will explain why.

Ok. We have most weeks 2 Banners running, and we always have access to the third generic banner. We will name each banner as a seperate term. So Banner A (we will say this is our limited time banner), Banner B (we will say this is theme of the week banner) , and Banner C (our generic banner). We want to pull a particular Unit from Banner A, however all we have is a 10 1 Ticket. 10 1 Tickets only pull from the generic pool, same with Exvius tickets. So when you pull with these tickets, your pulling from the generic pool.

In all honesty, there is no difference in what banner you look at, they all pull from the same generic pool. The difference is in how each banner looks at the pool. The Generic banner does not improve the odds of pulling any particular unit, all it looks for is that unit available. That's it, that's all it looks for. It doesn't care what is in a limited time pool or not. This is why it's important. people keep assuming that the banners are separate pools and they honestly are not, its a lot easier to code the units all as they are in one large pool and make exceptions for pulling from banner A better with changes on how that banner formulates what can be pulled. Ie: 40% chance to pull a 3* unit, a 10% chance to pull unit x(who is a 3* unit). That's how they improve the odds of pulling a unit on banner. So all units are grouped now by what their rarity is, and when the formula says it pulls from the 3* units, it looks at all 3* units. When a limited time unit is introduced they can set a if/then statement into the program. If it is such and such date, then yes this unit is available otherwise no. Makes it a lot simpler than adding and deleting unit from pools all the time.

now coming back to the formula we are pulling with a 10 1 ticket. so we all know this pulls from the generic banner so no improved odds. It runs through its formula and determines how many of each pool it needs to select from by RNG. then from those pools it determines the unit by RNG. Thats it. So as long as the unit is available within said pool and it meets the conditions that its an active banner for the limited time units. It can be pulled from any banner by any means. Your odds of pulling said unit however are much lower however.

So Tl:dr as long as the banner is active for a limited time unit it is possible to use any ticket to pull that unit. The odds are better if you can pull from said banner.

Edit 1: i am currently cleaning this up so it makes more sense. I will note once all the first changes are done.

Edit 2: current changes are done. you may now downvote me for putting this up incomplete, or for whatever reason you think i deserve to be downvoted.
