This post is going to be broken into two parts because the "interesting behavior" applies to every stacking spell that can be Reflected, and if used right, could be really useful for more than just nuking bosses. I'll use headers to try to split the two topics, but the video does show off a practical demonstration if you want to see so there's a bit of overlap. Anyways, before I start rambling...
Inspired by the rerelease of the Big Bridge, I figured I would take on Gilgamesh. I really, really wanted to go for a 2-shot setup, but it would have only been possible if I'd awoken either Garnet or Bartz and the Holy Crystal drought is real. As a result, I ended up leaving my fate to the cruel GUMI gods who control where the limit crystals go and I struck out. It left the ending this somewhat disorganized scramble, but because it showcased an observation I've made while playing around with Kuja, I was ultimately satisfied with the outcome.
I hope you enjoy watching it as much as I enjoyed playing around with different strategies, and as ususal, please feel free to ask questions or give critiques. I'll respond as soon as I can (which will be in about 4 hours after I wake up - it's pretty late where I'm at).
Also, for every trial predating Gilgamesh, I'll probably just mash all of those videos together (excluding March of Beasts/Parade of the Possessed). I ran the Two-Headed Dragon because I wanted to find out which was stronger: double Dracospikes or high SPR and 50% Lightning Resistance. After the Dragon dropped in 3 turns, I didn't really think it was that interesting by itself, and I'm not too optimistic about the other older Trials.
Enough of that, though. Time to talk mechanics.
Reflection and Stacking Spells
This behavior is pretty intuitive and many of you probably either already know this or will have a "well, duh doy" moment. However, each Reflected spell is treated as an individual cast, and as a result, each Reflection adds to spell's stack. That's how Kuja (starting around the 18:30 mark for people who want to see it) was able to go from dead to max stacks in one turn. Using Ashe as an example since realistically more people are going to give her a try than Kuja, you can use other spells and then use Carbuncle to give yourself a maxed out Thundaja on command to skip the windup phase of that spell and potentially use it as a finisher. Also, it means that - if you have her - Marie's Reflect spell can be used to hit max stacks after 2 turns instead of 3. It's a pretty handy trick and I thought that some people might get some mileage out of it.
Closing Remarks
I just want to thank everyone who offered up their Lightnings and Aces to help me push Kuja's damage output even further. I was almost able to clear True Titan with your help, but he went away before I could work out a reliable strategy/get a break with the Tumult spam. Still, when one of the problems I faced was hitting the health thresholds too soon, I'm pretty excited about using those awesome imperils as we move forwards, so again, I really just wanted to thank everyone for their help and I hope that I don't disappoint.
EDIT: Cleaned up a few spelling mistakes and created a better separation in topics.
