Doubt about 9's "Hiper Dive" and Nimbus

I have been trying to find Nimbus again to test this but managed to find him only one time til now, and by the time I didn't have a max level / equip Nine and a friend who had one too.
I would like to know if Hiper Dive actually hits him or if the 3 turn away thing messes it up? Have any of you guys tryied to kill him with 2 or 3 MAXed Nines?
