Ever since Nazta's datamine, I felt like something was off about Hyper Fire. As it is now (2-5 random target attacks, x0.8 damage each) it's literally a weaker version of Rapid Fire (1-6 random target attacks, x1.0 damage each). And judging by its name alone, it seemed strange that Hyper Fire wouldn't be stronger.
Now, I finally unlocked the skill on my Medius, and its description gave me some hope: "Random damage to ALL ENEMIES." But alas, trying it out confirmed that it's really just a random target attack. After checking the featured summon announcement, however, I couldn't help but notice how they made it sound like AoE damage would be his specialty.
Furthermore, I checked Barrage and Madness Rush's descriptions: they explicitly say "Attack X enemies chosen at random". So, what do you think? Did Gumi mess up Hyper Fire like they did with Noctis' skills? Could Medius really be supposed to be an AoE monster, and absolute dominator of the Arena? Or did Gumi just word stuff wrong (not that it would be the first time they do it)?
IMPORTANT EDIT: I just unlocked Blazing Glory, and, trying Medius out in the Arena, that one skill basically confirmed that there's some major fuckuppery behind his skills.
Current rules forbid Light attacks and "Physical Attack Combos" (A.K.A. Barrages); I was quite surprised to see that Hyper Fire was not banned despite being a barrage-like ability, but I thought the reason was that it's a random-number-of-attacks move.
But then, I found out that Blazing Glory IS banned, despite it being a single attack, and non-elemental. Someone at Gumi really didn't know what they were doing.
