Why you want to start the arena week strong (Arena Ratios)
Post Body

So I haven't seen this mentioned anywhere but wanted to write a bit about what I'm seeing in arenas in terms of opponents and arena ratios and how to take advantage of them.

The first thing to take into account is you're more likely to get matched with people within a couple 1000 ranking of your own. I'm not sure what the max is but it's at least 20,000. Seems like the further out it is though the less of a chance you have to get ranked against those people.

This is important because the ranking by arena points is extremely top heavy, those in the top couple thousand are the ones racing so you end up with a non-linear graph where it climbs very steeply once you're near those top ranks.

This effects what you'll see for Arena Ratios because once you're outside of that top 20,000 or so you're much likely to get matched against people with not very high ratios, because the rankings are much flatter once you're out of those top tiers.

I've noticed this very much this week where I didn't do many arena matches at the start of the week and now I'm kind of stuck slowly increasing, only able to find matches at most at 1.15, while people ahead of me can more easily find 1.50 matches for every single orb.

This causes the richer to get richer sort of thing while you have to fight twice as hard to not only keep pace with them but try and make any gains in the rankings.

Curious if anyone else has noticed this phenomenon, fairly certain its accurate though as its makes sense logically.

tl;dr Getting ahead of the arena pack early in the week is important to getting good ratio matchups and staying ahead
