Do slayer materia/Abilities stack?

So I'm finally up to the final colosseum boss, frost dragon, and he's kinda wrecking me.

I have a slayer materia.. And thought I read they stack, so tried putting it on kain for massive damage (he has built in dragon slayer too).. But doesn't seem like they do..

Also tested in Lanzelt highlands against the tyrannos.. Had a guest kain with 1x slayer, and mine with 2x slayer. And while most abilities seemed about the same, Lance did do 50% more damage, but i'm not sure if that was due to a weird way it works or not.. The kains had about the same atk (was 1 pnt off), but other stuff varied.
