Curse of Immunity Melissa
I guess since another app update is needed to add the support for Dioses and leader skills, they had to pad a bit so we get our clash unit with DV and our DV unit with clash this month with the surprise appearance of a new CNEX GLEX unit!
Melissa has a pretty powerful support kit, primarily looking like a bit of an amalgamation of Sylvie and Cressnik. For rating her, it was primarily a comparison to Sylvie to see if she deserved the same rating. The first and most obvious loss is only supporting one element (dark) compared to Sylvie's two, and then for her ailment/break/element protection, her skills for it are more action efficient, but she’s slightly lacking, with no stop/cham coverage and 70% omni 200% dark resist compared to Sylvie’s 80% omni 200% earth/lightning. Her killers are slightly better with being 1 turn CD. On mitigations, Melissa has 75-80 general, 75 magic, and 50 physical, compared to Sylvie having 75 physical and magic but no general outside of her 3 turn single-use magnus. While I’d technically say Melissa wins in a vacuum here, almost every competent tank in use these days does strong general single type AoE mitigation, so Sylvie is more flexible at covering the missing mitigation from either type of tank, while Melissa isn’t so great alongside a magic tank. They’re pretty even on LB damage buffs, but she's a bit worse on the stat buff front, having lower AoE potency and a wait before her big ST one comes up, and they each have some HP/MP/LB support in different forms and a neat extra trick or two like 5 stack mirage or dark absorb & CD Reduction.
Overall with base kits, we felt Melissa’s little disadvantages added up enough to put her half a point below Sylvie.
HOWEVER, She also unlocks several extra uses when it comes to morale - she’s a very potent morale battery, potentially having over 2k per turn automatically, her dark absorb (that imbues the enemy and thus nullifies all physical damage for a turn) goes from 1 turn of availability to 4, and her omni-resistance buffs also increase from 70% to 100% alongside some powerful imperil removal for the team. We felt these made up for the previous differences, so Melissa is getting a 31.5 normal rating and a 32.0 morale rating, similar to the treatment Kaito got.
