I wish they spent all the time and money they did on designing this new battle system, coding and testing it, coming up with new battle AIs and GLEX units, and instead done this:
Create explorations. No new battle mechanics necessary. Just hire someone to design some well-thought-out, visually interesting, challenging dungeons. Like Bahamut’s Island, or Asura’s whatever it was. Give them some superficial lore, maybe more of the Keepers of Time bullshit. Give it increasingly difficult modes. Make them temporary like story events. Rank them if you want. Give it DV-style scoring, but on axes that make sense for expeditions.
You know, give us some more Final Fantasy.
The answer will be “but this won’t sell GLEX units to whales.” I know. But I find this new CoW so depressing. I’m no whale, but I’ve spent plenty of money on the game over five years, and I’m as close to bailing as I’ve ever been.
