FE Electrical Vs Other Discipline
Post Body

I recently to the Electrical and Computer Engineering FE exam and did not pass. While I studied for the exam, making sure to understand the handbook, I felt rushed and not prepared for the Communication, Controls, Linear, Signals, Computer Network/Systems, or Digital Systems part of the exam, mainly because I avoided taking signals related classes after signals and systems as well as digital logic related classes. These subject area where my weakest in my exam diagnostics and I was basically learning these topics for the first time while reviewing for the exam.

I'm looking to retake the exam with a different game plan and part of that game plan involves looking into the other disciples exam. I know that it's best to take the FE in the area you studied but I feel so far removed from half of the ECE exam that I'm not sure if I will be do well on the sections I listed above. While I'm not super familiar with Statics, Dynamics or Fluids on the other disciplines exam, I feel like they will be easier for me to learn than Controls and Systems.

Would you suggest I take the other discipline exam given my situation? If so, what are some of the best ways to study for the other disciplines exam?

I know this is a common type of question in this sub-reddit but I would really appreciate any opinions on this topic. Thanks!
