Post Body
On Mark Mattson's Geotechnical Review - Question 14, about bearing capacity and eccentricity of footing's loadings, I was not able to understand how he got his "Mr" (resisting moment) to calculate "e" (eccentricity).
He multiplied the vertical load for 1ft length, of 16kips, by the distance of 2.5ft.
Could someone explain to me how does that equal the resisting moment?
