Kyle Woods with the FBI Task Force in New Mexico told me that my trafficker did not commit federal crimes when he sex trafficked me across three states by coercing me to believe that if I did not comply, my child would be sex trafficked too. The trafficker confessed many crimes directly to local law enforcement agents, who did not bother investigating him. He made these confessions to prove to me, his victim, that there was no escape from sex trafficking and that he was allowed to do it. The trafficker did not lie about this, the cops and FBI did not respond to his confessions or my pleas for help at any point. I was forced to escape on my own and have relied on social workers to protect me ever since.
According to Kyle Woods, local law enforcement agencies did not have the jurisdiction to detain the trafficker and the FBI was not responsible for investigating it either, leaving no responsible parties to investigate sex traffickers who cross state lines. The trafficker, despite multiple recorded confessions directly to law enforcement, has never been investigated to this day.
If local law enforcement agencies refuse to help victims and the FBI won't investigate them either.... How are victims of sex trafficking supposed to get help? Who's jurisdiction is it when people are trafficked across state lines?
