Improved my life one way, fell backwards three more steps - tips/guidance appreciated

Keeping this as brief as I can, in September of last year I quit smoking weed at the stern request of my psychiatrist. Ultimatum was I do this or cant continue to get my Adhd meds. He feels they conflict with each other. I follow through, yet due to chronic back pain that I take 2x5 MG of Oxycodone 6 times a day the pain meds no longer give me comfort alone. The thc was helping me be much more active and allowed me to perform activities I couldn't do otherwise such as walk the dog or stand up straight for 5-10 minutes. Primary pain specialist won't increase dosage either. Though, I may have to revisit that scenario soon as I'm regulated to using a cane now for walking without the supplement of Marijuana.

Moving on that halfstep, in late March of this year I quit smoking my pack a day habit of camel cigarettes.. Body feels a bit better except for the fact that I've put on like 60 pounds since quiting.

I substituted eating a large portion for smoking when I did, as well as being more active while using weed has been a real detriment to my health this last year.

Starting in October, I'm revamping my whole diet to exclude sugar and carbs. Eat healthy portions and joined a gym with a pool to relax the back as I exercise. Plan on going there 3 times a week around 10 am and expanding as I see progress.

My life currently is very lonely with just myself and my loving dog. I'll be doing the exercise for myself to become healthy again

Any tips on diet, what I should buy or consume and how much and often should I do so. I'm tKing this very seriously and would like noticeable results by January 1st with a 12 month endgame to hitting my goals.
