With 24 being released in a few days these obviously won't happen in time for that, but I think now that they've got the base for create a team mode there are a few things I'd like to improve on to help the actual management side of the game.
- Uncertainty with upgrades
I think based on how good staff and facilities are, there should be a lower chance of upgrades not performing as well as expected. For example if you're improving rear wing and your drag reduction is at 80% and you design a new part that improves it to 81% when you actually manufacture the part and put it on your car it gives you a range of 79-82% (for example) and the more you familiarise yourself with that part through practice sessions, the smaller that range becomes, so you wouldn't actually know if it upgraded your car until you're about to go into qualifying. The lower your staff and facilities are, the more chance that you part is worse than expected and the larger the range is
- Practise sessions
Like people have mentioned previously, having something to actually do in practice sessions like understanding how the different tyres behave on the track or by doing quali runs or long runs would definitely improve practice sessions. Also from the previous point, using the part familiarisation to be able to narrow down the performance of your car for new parts would give a new meaning to it other than you just trying to get it to 100%.
- Pre season
Some form of pre season testing would be good, you can use it to get a head start on understanding the car parts to see how well they actually perform and you can choose to sandbag your car to disguise how good you really are. Also, I don't think rankings should be available of how well your car is relative to others until the first race of the season. You could obviously base it on pre season results, but like in real life you wouldn't know who is sandbagging. This would make the period in between seasons interesting as you may think you've done a lot of research previously and designed new parts well enough to be challenging the top 3, just to get knocked out in q2 at Bahrain.
- Calendar
I get the issue with licensing so using new tracks wouldn't be possible, but after the first season it would be good so see the order change and the races at which sprints happen also change. Also the number of sprint races could be voted on to increase or decrease their frequency.
- Miscellaneous stuff
- being able to see a big table with all the results each driver achieved in the season (maybe even previous seasons as well
- this might just be me, but having a button which tells a driver not to overtake their teammate and just sit behind them. I know they have a do not fight button but this doesn't work well for the driver in 2nd because they'll always end up divebombing and then backing off completely which slows everyone down
- driver training should still improve this you're not focusing on, but of course nowhere nearly as quickly as the ones you are focusing on, especially for young drivers. If you're training control, accuracy, attacking and defending, to say nothing else improves especially for young drivers would just be wrong. It shouldn't be ask quick as the things you focusing on and could be related to race performances but they should also improve
- contracts, the driver or staff should state an initial contract they'd be prepared to accept and then negotiate. Instead of increasing their salary by millions at a time because you have no clue what they want
- race engineers/drivers doing more so I don't have to micromanage their ers and fuel all the time
- overtime, facilities should deteriorate a level or 2 randomly to show new technology being developed or something
