I'm playing my first season with Haas, and after Suzuka I'm tied with AlphaTauri for P6 in the standings (they have the tiebreaker though, Tsunoda finished 8th once while my best result is 9th four times). My car is fairly shitty because I haven't been actively developing it for a while. P6 in the WCC is the goal from my board, but by now I'm rarely ever close to the points so my chances of making that are slipping away. Anyone know of any ways, either general or track-specific, to grab a few (like, 2 or 3 should do it) points in the last 6 GPs (Qatar, COTA, Mexico, Interlagos, Vegas, Abu Dhabi)? Maybe a crazy race strategy gamble?
Background that may or may not be helpful:
I started out just behind Alpine on pace but close enough to consistently challenge them for the last two points-paying positions, since 1st through 8th are taken up by Mercedes/Ferrari/RB/AM unless someone retires. I switched to prioritizing research over design about a third of the way through the year, so since then we've naturally been slipping back through the field on pace- as of Suzuka, which I just finished, we're normally running between 13th and 17th, and our last point came in Budapest.
