I’m on Xbox. Pre-Ordered 2020, which was probably my first pre-order ever, and was enjoying it immensely until they removed ranked racing altogether, as far as I can tell (previous post here). I noticed 2021 was added to Gamepass, and knowing the general consensus about the state of the game, decide to keep my careers on 2020, started a driver career in 2021 and I’m still in the F2 season.

Was starting to feel pretty confident and decided to head back to online. Got into a race on the first try, thought maybe all the complaints were overblown. Absolutely mangled the race and retired before I ruined any other players’ race more than I already had. Okay, needed to adjust from F2. Second race, struggled a bunch more and bailed before I ruined anyone else again. Sent apologies. Spectate rest of race, resolve to focus on clean driving for placement over results, lost connection to server. Couldn’t join another ranked race for the rest of the night.

Try again today, spent 45 minutes getting into my first race, only to get intentionally walled out of turn 1 at Spa. Take twenty more minutes to get into a race, lose it at turn 7 (I think?) of Zandvoort, limp back to pits to take hards to finish 25% race. Lose it again. Lifted both times, but I probably still need to adjust.

Can’t get into a race again. Try social, “expert” has never even connected to a session. Browse for countless 1 player servers or terrible connections.

I don’t understand how Codemasters and EA haven’t even apologized, much less offered refunds to those of you poor souls who spent money on this dogshit. I can’t believe almost a year later and they haven’t fixed it. Short of absolutely GLOWING reviews of 2022, if they even have the audacity to release it, I will never give Codemasters another dime. I’d already sworn off EA after Battlefield 4 announced and were accepting purchases for DLC while releasing a broken base game. Most of all, I can’t understand how these absolute cheese dicks keep surprising me with this garbage.

Please for the love of everything, F1, pull your license from these clowns.
