Struggling with "ABS" assist off

Hello,

So to learn this I've picked Qatar, a track I know quite well, but disabled the assist. I've read and watch videos all about trail braking, etc. My struggle is, on turn 1 of that track, which comes after a big straight, if I go full brake without turning the wheel, the split second I do that at that speed my car spins.

I always thought that the concept was supposed to full brake while straight and then trail brake on corner until the apex, but I'm struggling to slow the car at high speeds following tight corners.

Any tip?
