This is possibly one of the worst ranked systems I’ve ever seen in a game. They could’ve just copied everything from last year’s game and it would be miles better.

Basing your ranking off of a total number of accrued points throughout the week doesn’t reward skill, it rewards play time. And because you get less points the less players there are in the lobby, nobody is willing to stay in a lobby with less than like 6 people. The pre-race lobby becomes a game of musical chairs as people constantly join and then leave 10 seconds later. IF YOU WOULD ALL JUST STAY IN THE LOBBY, WE COULD HAVE CONSISTENT RACES WITH DRIVERS IN THE DOUBLE DIGITS!

Then if you’re lucky enough to actually get into a race before everyone backs out, you have to hope you don’t run into a sore loser that’s just going to put you into a wall every time you try and make a pass. There don’t seem to be any repercussions for doing this, as I’m still getting punted in License A Gold III lobbies. And a player who just attempted to play bumper cars with me by pushing me off track at T1 in Monza twice, and then later rear ended me and sent me into the wall at T3, didn’t get any penalty time added. But it’s cool, he took first place because the guy who actually finished in first got a 3 second penalty for cutting a corner to avoid getting wrecked like I did. So the game decided to actually enforce track limits for once, I guess. Speaking of…

Track limits? What track limits? Ranked has now become a battle of who knows where you can cut corners to not trigger any warnings. The white lines are merely a suggestion, since Codemasters/EA thought it was a great idea to keep the corner cutting to Regular, even in the A class.

I really just wanted to get to the Elite Division as part of getting the Platinum Trophy on PlayStation, but this game is doing its damndest to deter me from wanting to ever touch ranked again.
