what's the thing with car servicing?

The times that i push my drivers, my car's health degrades significantly, but when i go into the pits for tyre change even though the car's health is low it doesn't service the car, as a result i then have to pit again needlessly or risk running and damaging the car. While pitting i only see the option for selecting tyres, am i missing something here?
