Random Select Glitch?

I'm pretty new to this game and I'm on the Switch version, so I don't know how common this is, but does anyone else have the game randomly decide to ignore your chosen Counselor/Jason in favor of the default Random Selection, often times when it's too late to "Unready" from the match?
It can be pretty annoying when I'm wanting to play as Deborah only to suddenly find out I'm playing as Bugzy
