My classmates in high school who I didn't talk to / hang out with much as an evangelical youth are now some of the people I talk to the most online.
I moved out of the south and live in New Enngland now (the deep south is just too hot and too hateful lol). Some of them come up periodically for outdoorsy stuff, so we're currently planning fishing and camping trips. We all love the fact that we can do so much summertime stuff without feeling like being cremated lol.
In sum, deconstruction helped me chill out and mature a little bit. What was the most relaxing is how accepting and understanding my classmates were of me, because they know how hard it can be to break away from harmful childhood beliefs.
