Is it a reasonable idea to replace income tax with higher tariffs?
Post Body

That sounds like a radical change to throw out there. What would the change actually be, what would the consequences be, and is it something that would ever happen according to both sides?

Comments

There is no "both sides" here.

Replacing income tax with tariffs would absolutely destroy the American economy, as it would substantially increase prices on most goods for consumers who are already having trouble affording them. Anyone advocating for this policy change is either ignorant or a complete asshole.
